Welcome to DTS!

The Disabled Transportation Society (DTS) of Grande Prairie is a non-profit society, with a mission to supply door to door transportation for persons with special needs, who are unable to use other forms of public transportation, safely and with dignity.

Our fleet of 9, wheelchair accessible busses serves clients and members in and around the City of Grande Prairie and Clairmont.

Our volunteer board of directors is elected by the membership at the society's annual general meeting.

We are largely funded by the City of Grande Prairie, and supplemented by donations from the United Way, Rotary Cars for Christmas, the County of Grande Prairie, membership fees, trip fares, and fund raising at Bingos and Casinos. We are proud to work with the City and residents of Grande Prairie to provide transportation and an improved quality of life, for persons with disabilities.

The demand for DTS service is growing at an extremely high rate. We need to increase our fleet size to meet this demand. Plans are being made to do so. In addition, costs are escalating rapidly. We are attempting to keep the cost to our clients at an affordable rate.

Use of our service is on a priority basis. Medical, Work and Education are our three highest priorities. We are asking our clients to cooperate with us and be flexible when going shopping. Please work with our dispatchers and schedule your shopping trips at the non-busy hours. Most afternoon bookings after   1:00 PM are filled with our priority clients. It is also requested that you minimize your “will call” bookings. Please schedule a pick up time for your return when possible.

We are working hard to meet the demands of our clients and will make every attempt to do so. We ask your cooperation in assisting us.

Membership in the Disabled Transportation Society of Grande Prairie is available to any person wishing to assist our mobility challenged clients. Every annual membership fee of $30.00 assists us to a great degree. Persons wishing to join the DTS in order to improve the quality of life of our mobility challenged citizens are encouraged to contact us.
